‘No Dorai’ is a film based on the life of a surfer girl in Cox’s Bazar. The film is the first venture production of Star Cineplex and directed by Taneem Rahman Angshu.

The
film is starred by Sunerah Binte Kamal and Sariful Razz in the leading roles. The
name of the film has been kept in local language of Chittagong ‘No Dorai’ that
means ‘not afraid’. The screenplay of the film is written by the Indian
screenwriter Shyamal Sengupta. The chairman of Star Cineplex Mahbub Rahman and
Star Cineplex are producing this cinema. Now-a-days, surfing among the women in
Bangladesh is increasing rapidly. But the girls have to face a lot of problems
to overcome and win. The film features these subjects and specially, it
features the women power and their freedom about working freely alongside men. A
girl in such kind of most Muslim populated country has to overcome a lot of social
problems. The surfer girls of Bangladesh are becoming popular but they have a
lot of contribution for this popularity.
They have a lot of stories about their life, family and behind their
growing up. Surfing in Bangladesh being a girl is very challenging. But they
are doing that presently. These kinds of stories have inspired the director to
make such kind of cinema that says about the empowerment and freedom of women
in Bangladesh. Recently the a trailer has been unveiled that also expresses the
empowerment and freedom.
