Haldaa (2017) is a Bangladeshi dramatic feature film directed by Tauqir
Ahmed in 2017. The film is made based on the story written by Azad Bulbul. It is
made under the banner of Tiger Media Limited. The film is starred by Mosharraf
Karim, Zahid Hasan and Nusrat Imrose Tisha as the leading characters and others
in supporting roles. The film Haldaa (2017) is released on 1st
December, 2017 in81 cinema halls in Bangladesh.

Plot Summary:
The film Haldaa (2017) is about
the struggling of the fisherman of Halda River located in Chittagong, the only
natural fish breeding centre in Asia. An orphan man, Bodi protects Monu Miya
from a group of gangs in the sea. Monu Miya keeps him in his house in return. But
Bodi falls in love of Monu Miya’s daughter, Hashu. Monu Miya has lost costly
net and boat so has to get her daughter married to Nader Chowdhury as
compensation. But Nader Chowdhury can understand that Bodi is the father of
Hashu’s unborn child. Bodi is killed by Nader Chowdhury’s men. One day, Hashu
kills her husband with a dagger for the crime of murdering Bodi and torturing
her.

Review of the movie
Haldaa (2017):
I think Haldaa (2017) is a
metaphorical film. It is a linear narrative style film. It is about the struggling
of the fishermen living on the bank of river Halda. In this film, the biggest
importance has been given on the mother fish. The fisherman who sells mother
fish gets punishment from the authority. But when the authority buys the mother
fish, no one watch the terrific scenery of the mother fish In lieu of punishing
the authority. Mother fishes breed in Halda River naturally but rich man Nader
Chowdhury collects and consumes it without thinking breeding of fish. Here Hashu
is described as mother fish who wants to save her unborn child but environment
and people nearby want to spoil it. In the sphere of mother fish, this action
has been caused. So, I think here Hashu has been described as mother fish and
Nader Chowdhury as the people who want to kill the mother fish of river Halda. It
is a feature dramatic film about the consciousness of protecting mother fish in
the river of Halda. Because, every year, at a definite time, mother fishes
breed. If the evil people collect mother fishes and sell at the market for
money, the fishes cannot breed more and more that economically will destroy. Most
attractive story ever on the river of Halda has been adapted by Tauqir Ahmed. He
nicely has brought the audiences in the cinema halls making this cinema. I would
say it a perfect combination about the river Halda and breeding naturally of
fishes. He has gifted Joyjatra (2004), Rupkothar Golpo (2006), Daruchini Dip
(2007), Oggyatonama (2016), Fagun Haway (2019) and Sphilingo (2021). Most of
them are good cinema I think. And some have got national awards. So, his film
making style will be good and audiences will watch good cinema.
Technical support, background
score, actor’s performance and dialogues are adjusted perfectly. Performance of
Mosharraf Karim, Tisha and zahid Hasan is mind blowing though they have acted before
in some great drama and movies. Natural performance and natural dialogues are
mostly noticeable in the movie. So, I would suggest you if you haven’t watched
the movie, just watch it now.
