Personal Review:
Jodi Ekdin is a hit film in Bangladesh. It is one of
the most grossing films in 2019 in Bangladesh. At first I thought that the film
story is an autobiography of Tasan Khan and Rafiath Rashid Mithila and their
daughter Arya Tahreen Khan. They both have been separated before some years.
But after finishing the full movie the story has changed my views. This is a
unique story. I love the story. Specially, the ending one is most important in
the film. Here there are introduction phase, climax phase and a good ending
phase. And the most important thing is emotion. The director has used
character’s emotion in the film is such a way that the film has achieved its
application to the audiences. In the lead roles, tahsan Khan and Afrin Shikha
Raisa have played their roles importantly. And the srabanti’s performance has
increased their application to the audiences. All they have played their
natural performance as possible. The narrative is also a very unique and
attractive. It is a tight script. But there are some excessive dialogues in
some slow motion scenes. These are the weak phases of the film. Another
important and attractive thing is its songs. They are hearable and popular to
the audiences. Specially, the theme music is also has kept its main
contribution in the film. There is special appearance of Taskeen Rahman. But his
performance and dialogue is not same as Tahsan and Srabanti. His has tried his
best in performance and dialogues. But he has done his best in “Dhaka
Attack” (2017). His dialogues and performance are weak in this film.
Another important thing I have noticed in the film is formality. Tahsan Khan’s
formal dialogues and performance in the office but he does also in the house
with his mother and daughter. I guess they are the members of a high class
family. So, they can do it easily. But sometimes I think do the high society’s
family members never leave formality for a moment? It makes me thinking more. I
don’t know. But I think there should something informalities in the house
performance. Specially, dialogues with mother and daughter at home are that. I
have said about background music. It’s awesome and very attractive. The
cinematography is also awesome and excellent. There are variations in the shots,
scenes and dialogues. Set design, make
up and costumes are also made precisely. Overall the film keeps its appeal as a
hit film to the audiences. But there are some weak directions in a film. It has
also had some. There are some unnatural performances in the film of Taskeen
Rahman and the character of Tahsan Khan’s mother. There are also unnatural
dialogues of them. In Editing I have noticed one thing in the scene when Tahsan
Khan hears the sound of a child in a dream scene. He sleeps rapidly and the
editor has left only one shot between the two same shots taken as wide shot.
The wide shot in which the light is switched off, should be durable or should
add another shot for holding naturalism. But I guess he slept and after a
single shot again gets up. I think it’s not natural or could not hold reality. But
overall the film is best for its outstanding story and performance and tight
script. However, Tahsan’s performance is excellent. As a father, he agrees
everything to sacrifice for his daughter Rupkotha (Afrin Shikha Raisa).
Actually he is not her biological father rather his friend Jemy. But Faisal
loved Diya, Rupkotha’s mother truly. Jemy consented to abort for the purpose of
his carrier. But Diya did not agree in abortion. So, after her death, he could not leave
Rupkotha and at the ending scene he was also going to sacrifice another thing
for his best friend Jemy. Actually there is something in human life for living
whatever a profession or a human. But Faisal’s life is only for Rupkotha. He is
her father he is her mother he is her everything. In this sense, his acting is
extra ordinary in the film that has contributed it mostly to be attractive to
the audiences.
