The Drug Trader is a Bangladeshi short film directed by young director Md. Robiul Islam in 2019. It's his 3rd short film. His first short film is New Classmate (2016).
But the short film's story is taken from a sequence of a famous Bangladeshi film Amar Bondhu Rashed (2011) directed by Morshedul Islam. Morshedul Islam is one of the prominent film directors in Bangladesh. The sequence of the film inspired Md. Robiul Islam. In the next time, he directs New Classmate taking the story from the film. It's main motif is ; a new student is admitted in University. He is very simple boy and don't argue with anyone. The classmates of the department accept him cordially except one. The exceptional can not accept the new classmate. Quarrel and fighting is common to the exceptional against the new student. While the students come out from the classroom, the twos started fighting. the same situation in the road. In the next time the other classmates free them from fighting and take the new classmate.
His 2nd short film 'A Facebook Love Story' (2016) is a romantic musical short film cast by Mohammad Forhad and Ummay Sumaiya Kotha. The film's main motif is; A young boy and a young girl fall in love or engaged in relationship through social media site; Facebook. They go outside for meeting but still waiting in a same place, they can not find out them. When the girl tempted to go back, she find the boy. They gossip together and at last the boy proposes her with a beautiful flower. After that, they leave the place and go back an unknown destination.
The Drug Trader is the 3rd short film directed and produce in 2019 by Md. Robiul Islam. It's a crime drama. The film is starred by R A Baset Adnan, Farjana Rahman,Ahnaf Rohom Sian in the leading role. Besides the cinematographer is Abul Hasnat Ashik and Assiatant Directors are Saiyeed Shahjada Al Kareem and Mahirul Islam The main motif of the short film is; Nur Alam lives in Dhaka city at a rented flat with his wife and only son. Though his profession is key reproducing but he actually trades drug (Cocaine). In one night two cocaine sellers are shot by police and Nur Alam escapes anyway. After that he leaves Dhaka city with his wife and son that night.
