Kajer Beti Rahima (1998) [English: Rahima The maid Servant]  is a Bangladeshi classic and tragic film directed by Rayhan Mujib. In Kajer Beti Rahima, Jasim and Shabana have played the main character's role and some other characters such as Anwara, Nutan, sultana and some other casts also have played important role.  Kajer Beti Rahima is also a melodramatic film. Because it has some more over acting and is mixed with tragic music somewhere.

Plot Summary
Rahima (Shabana) lives at a slum with her little brother Karim and sister Ayesha. Their father was a rickshaw puller. After Rahima's father's death, her mother is also died. But her parents wished that their children would be admitted in school and be educated. But lack of money, Rahima can not admit her brother and sister in school. She is a maid servant. She works in a house of a rich family. But the owner and her son Rony and daughter Dipa are very cruel to Rahima. Although she works regularly, they oppress her cruelly. Even they have blinded her eyes slandering that she has stolen the house owner's necklace though Rony had stolen the necklace. Dukhu (Jasim) is a nipper. But he spends all money for the orphans and helpless people. He lives with his only mother.  Bizli a young girl also lives in his village. She loves Dukhu and wishes to marry him. But Dukhu does not know the matter. Bizli works at Semab Garments International. One day Dukhu rescues Rahima from the gangsters after some days he takes her and her sister and brother to his house. then Rahima was ill. After recovering of Rahima, Dukhu hears all about her sorrowful life and story. He revenges fighting with Rony and his family. Dukhu admits rahima's brother and sister in a school. He also admits Rahima in Rahmania Eye Hospital to get back her eyes. He starts work hard and defeats a strong wrestler Rocky and wins 20,000 TK for Rahima's eye operation. Rony and his gangsters plan to make conspiracy but Dukhu finishes their conspiracy and Bizli kills Rony who raped her one day. Rahima gets back her eyes. Police arrest Bizli. But at the last scene we can see, Police arrest Dipa and her mother cause they were oppressing their maid servants for a long time. Dukhu and Rahima get married and they have a baby. Bizli gets release from jail.

Some things about the film: 
Kajer Beti Rahima is a good film overall. It is also a classic film but commercially it became successful. If we go to in 1990s, we will see that the audiences will like it. Because there were some lacks of entertaining programs except film. So, specially the audiences or the people had taken the film only for entertainment. In this case the film is okay. But there are some lacks in the film such as overacting, lack of natural acting and dialogues. It is not a social film. But most of the Shaban's films are social film which the audiences take as social film and they like it. There are some indecent scenes in the film. Actually, the scenes would be cut by the censor board according to the then social and cultural situation. Music, background sound are good but there are some lacks in cinematography. There would be taken some movable scenes in a creative frame. Editing is also very good but there are some unnatural acting and unnatural dialogues. they are some lacks of the film. But without these problems the whole film is very good.
