Mughal-e-Azam
(The Emperor of the Mughals) (1960) is an Indian epic historical drama film
directed by K. Asif in 1960. The film is starred by Prithviraj Kapoor,
Madhubala, Durga Khote and Dilip Kumar in the lead roles. The film is about the
love story between Mughal Prince Salim (Emperor Jahangir) and Anarkali, a court
dancer. But Salim’s father Emperor Akbar disapproves their relationship and so
a war is started between father and son.
The film Mughal-e-Azam (1960) is released on 5th
August, 1960. Its budget was about INR10.5 million to INR 15 million. But the
film hits its box office by INR 110 million.
