C.I.D (1956) is
and Indian crime thriller film directed by Raj Khosla in1956. The film is
produced by Guru Dutt. It stars Dev Anand, Shakila in the lead roles and K.N.
Singh, Bir Sakhuja, Wahida Rehman, Kum Kum, Jagdish Raj and others in some important
roles.

The film is about a
newspaper editor Shrivastav, is killed when he was about to disclose all the
illegal links of a very rich and influential person, Dharamdas. C.I.D Inspector
Shekhar is assigned to investigate the case. But unfortunately, he himself becomes
a suspect to the police department after being murdered of a criminal in the
jail. He loses his job. But the main criminal Dharamdas of the two murders is
found and arrested in the hospital by the assistance of Shekhar, his love
interest Rekha, Rekha’s father Superintendant of Police and Kamini.

The film deals a crime
story and its investigation through the chemistry of Dev Anand and Shakila. The
first half of the movie is about romantic comedy moments but the last half
delivers the critical reality of criminal investigation and complex state of
love between Shekhar and Rekha.

The popular and
