Jawaan (2017) (Soldier) is an Indian Telugu
language action patriotic thriller film directed by B.V.S. Ravi in 2017. The film
is produce by Krishna under the Arunachal Creation Banner. The film is starred
by Sai Dharam Tej, Mehreen Pirzada and Prasanna in the lead roles. Besides,
Jayaprakash, Eswari Rao, Satyam Rajesh, Narendra Babu, Subbaraju and others
have starred in the supporting characters.

The film is about “Jai,
a sincere person gets into a conflict with his childhood friend Keshava to keep
secure from stealing a missile called ‘Octopus’ from the ‘DRDO’.”
Jawaan is a perfect
action thriller. Specially, Telugu and Tamil films are mostly action thriller
sometimes romantic, comedic. But most noticeable scenes are of action genres. In
Jawaan, there are also romances, comedy but the fundamental thing is patriotic
film. For example; romance between Jai and Bhargavi, comedy between his nephew
and niece. But this comedy scene is not meaningful to most people. Here the
roles of Sai Dharam Tej and Prasanna are the most important. Prasanna from the
antagonist perspective and Sai Dharam Tej from the protagonist perspective have
played their roles importantly. The missile ‘Octopus’ is the main center of the
story. Keshava is Jai’s childhood friend. Keshava did any unethical deeds in
childhood but Jai considered wrong deed as wrong. In the young age Jai becomes
very sincere and wants to destroy any wrong deeds but when it is concerned with
sate, he becomes stronger than anytime. Keshava is very timid and wants to
steal the missile disguising him and sell to other. So, he threatens to murder all the members
for Jai’s family living in Jai’s house. Jai is very intelligent and clever. He finds
the disguised man and protects his family by his intelligence and by the help
of police. Keshava’s henchmen are murdered at last Keshava is killed in the gas
firing while fighting with Jai. Jai escapes from the firing.

Jai’s family members
are caught and kept in an unknown area. But Jai and his friend and police find them
and rescue them with the help of technology.
Plot summary is
described briefly. But there is no patriotism in the plot summary. Actually, ‘Octopus’
is such kind of missile that can destroy eight big cities within few seconds. If
it remains to the Army, they will use it in different critical moment of war. But
if is stolen by anyone, he can destroy the whole state. Only a man can carry
the missile, very light but very powerful. Jai has lost his grandfather to
protect the missile from stealing as he did want to provide the stamp which is
only the govt. officials can use.

Here the security is
more important to Jai than his family. So, he did not provide the missile to
his childhood friend Keshava, a criminal.
Here Prasanna and Sai
Dharam Tej have played their role perfectly. Specially, as an antagonist,
Prasanna has performed perfectly. But Keshava is defeated to Jai’s willpower,
intelligence and police assistance.
