Film and Media Studies are taught in Bangladesh with the Masterpiece

Film studies in Bangladesh are increasing day by day. In the 1950s, cinema was officially started to be made in Bangladesh. Most Directors are inspired in film making from French, Italian, Germany, British, American and Indian Film directors. Indian directors get inspiration from those countries's directors. Though film making is started in Bangladesh in 1950s, films are directed mostly in 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. These are the golden era of Bangladeshi film making history. But less famous and important films are directed for film studies. Before one or two decades, there were no approaches or thought about film studies. But After 2010s, film making and film studies are the noticed hugely. And it is increasing day by day. The govt. has opened many institutes for Television and media, some other public universities have opened departments about film studies and media. For example, Dhaka University has opened its department called 'Television, Film and Photography Department'. Besides, Jagannath University, Jahangir Nagar University, some govt. institutes and private universities have opened Televison, film, media studies department and started some short time training courses. Bangladesh Film Institute (BFI) offers some film making courses. Bangladesh Institute of Journalism and Electronic Media (BIJEM) offers short time courses. Jagannath University has opened 'Department of Film and Television'. Creative Institute opens its private courses about film making. Besides, the private universities like Green University starts its department 'Film, Television and Digital Media'. Stamford University Bangladesh begins its department 'Film & Media'. Canadian University of Bangladesh opens 'Film and Television Department'. Independent University, Bangladesh starts 'Department of Media and Communication'. Thus film students are increasing in Bangladesh to challenge and face with the global cinema. In the classic era, film was not study or it is not a course or department as film studies. But in 2010s, Govt. and private sectors have given importance on film studies. There are less cinemas which can be studied as the language of cinema in Bangladesh. But the Bangladeshis have got some famous and ideal cinemas which are the subjects of film studies. But foreign cinemas of the above countries are also used as the language of film studies in Bangladesh. There are some important and famous cinemas which are studied as the mother of film language.
