Sabdhan (2000) Bangladeshi Film Review

Sabdhan is a Bangladeshi action drama film directed by Mohommod Hannan in 2000. The film is produced and distributed by Mass Media Ltd. It is starred by Riaz and Raveena in the lead role and in other supporting roles, Mizu Ahmed, Dipjol, Misha Sawadagar, Moyuri some others have played their roles. The film is released in 2000. In Bangladesh Film Industry since 2000s, nudity and vulgarity have come extremely. And Sabdhan is one of the examples. But the story is extra ordinary. The film is an unofficial remake of a south Indian movie. I have watched the original movie but cannot imagine the name of the original movie. South Indian actor Vijay has acted in that film. Screenplay and Direction: Mohommod hannan Personal Analysis: Sabdhan (2000) is a remake or the story is copied or taken from a South Indian movie acted by Vijay. But there is no discourse or writing or credit of it. Another main problem of Bangladeshi cinema is film information is very rear to get on Internet or in any other platforms. There is false information on Internet. Many confirm that it is released in 2009. But the film is actually released in 2000. The director Mohommod hannan has directed also several films for example; Praner Cheye Priyo (1997), Bikkhov (1994), Sahoshi Manush Chai (2003) and some others. But he has directed most of the films in 1990s. Sabdhan (2000) is an action drama film. There are two sphere of a film one is weak position and the other is good position. The film has the twos commonly. There are some popular songs in the film. This is one of the best positions of the film. But there are a lot weak positions for example; over acting, extra dialogue, slow motion, not real object and subject. Not matching the dialogues and performance with the event. Reality is very important in the film. But in Sabdhan the state of reality is very weak. Besides, there are vulgarity and incivility in the movie. Actually, the director has kept these kinds of scene in the movie for attracting the audiences. But the audiences know value of old cinema and the 2000s’s cinema. The contents have been changed in Bangla (Bangladeshi) cinema during 2000s. Riaz and Raveena have played in the movie as the leading roles. But actually Raveena has supported Riaz in this film. As the main character, Riaz has performed excessively. But other characters or supporting characters have also supported. The quality and value are very important to watch a film. And bangle cinema has lost it in 2000s. But After 2009, I mean in 2010s, Bangladeshi cinema in increasing its quality and value for the audiences. The young and new directors are giving importance to the comments of the audiences. Several good and hit films have been released in 2010s. Sometimes, I cannot find genre of Bangladeshi cinema of 2000s. There is no film movement or art movement. So, the Bangladeshi young and new directors cannot stay in a same or indefinite genre or attributed one. Dialogues, performances, cinematography, costume, make up, set design and over all editing have weaned the film quality. But the performance of Riaz and Raveena are popular to the Bangladeshi audiences. Besides, its popular songs have upheld the quality and value of the film.
