Molla Barir Bou (2005) Bangladeshi Film Review

Molla Barir Bou is a Bangladeshi romantic and crime drama film directed by famous film director Salauddin Lavlu in 2005. The film story is written by the famous actor A.T.M Shamsuzzaman and it is produced and distributed by Chhaya Chhanda cholochitro. The film is starred by Moushumi, Riaz, Shabnur, ATM Shamsuzzaman, Chitralekha Guho, Pran Roy, Khairul Alam Sabuj, Keramat, Masud Ali Khan, Wahida Mallick Jolly and Some others. The cinematographer of the film is Hasan Ahmed. The film music is composed by Imon Saha and it is edited by Fazley Haque. ATM Shamsuzzaman as Gazi Ebadat Molla, Moushumi as Bokul, Riaz as Jowan Gazi and Shabnur as Parul have cast in the leading role of the film. Plot Gazi Ebadat Molla is an owner of a huge amount of land property in the village and don’t know actual religious knowledge exactly. But he has huge property and power in the house as he is the owner. His only married son Jowan Gazi is like a fool. Everything he does according to his father’s advice or orders even the secret between husband and wife (Bokul). So, there is no peace in the house. Gazi Ebadat Molla differently oppresses on his daughter-in-law even on her guest father. But his son doesn’t do anything to overcome it. Onday Ebadat Molla forces and marries Jowan Gazi to Parul a modern village young girl. But after marriage, Parul strategically punishes his father-in-law and makes his husband Jowan Gazi a modern person. In the last scene, Gazi Ebadat Molla gets a chance to kill his second daughter-in-law but unfortunately his first daughter-in-law Bokul kills him with a sword but later Parul admits herself as the criminal hopingba happy life of Bokul and Jowan Gazi. The police arrest her latter. Personal Analysis: Review It is a kind of Bangladeshi village story. Actually it is a family crime drama directed by Salauddin Lavlu. The story is fantastic. It has picturized the whole villages of Bangladesh because the same story exists around the Bangladeshi villages. But I think the film is a slow motion for watching. It costs a huge amount of time. The story and the events of the film have been briefly said fluently. But the scenes have been increased unnecessarily. Special thanks to ATM Shamsuzzan for a natural and extra ordinary casting. Specifically, his acting is awesome. But other’s castings are also good but less natural. In a word there is a good performance in the film. But there is something lacks in the cinematography. I think the shot variations are not here precisely. It would be nice if there were shot variations and skilled camera movements. However, the background music composition is well. Specially, it has six popular songs for the Bangladeshi people. Someone of west Bengal listen them I think. Editing style is normal but it would be better if there were shot movements and the scenes were short. But I think the film is popular and very attractive to most of the Bangladeshi people. As there are popular songs here and they like specially the popular songs and the background music is also another factor for which the people or the audiences like it mostly. There is suggestion: If you don’t see it, please watch it. Specially, the story and the performance of ATM Shamsuzzan are very attractive for most of the audiences. The film is directed in 2005 but the popularity and attraction are existed forever. Specially, the movie has got its popularity commercially and socially.
